Description
Ultrabond Eco Tack TX AU is an acrylic adhesive in water dispersion formulated specifically to dry to a permanently tacky film rather than a hard, permanent bond — its whole purpose is holding loose-lay carpet tiles, underlayment and LVT in place while still allowing individual pieces to be lifted, replaced or repositioned whenever needed. That’s a genuinely different function from a standard flooring adhesive, and getting the drying step right is what determines whether it behaves as a tackifier rather than a permanent bond.
Being rated for chair-castor stress to EN 12529 and suitable over underfloor heating extends where it can be specified into genuine commercial office environments, not just residential loose-lay carpet tile jobs. Its very low consumption — 80-150 g/m² — and colour-pigmented formulation for coverage uniformity make it economical and easy to apply consistently by roller, trowel or brush across a large open-plan floor.
A tackifier like Ultrabond Eco Tack TX solves a specific practical problem in carpet tile installations: individual tiles inevitably need replacing over the life of a floor due to wear, staining or damage, and a permanently tacky film makes lifting and replacing just the affected tiles straightforward, rather than needing to disturb the surrounding floor. Its compatibility with underfloor heating and loose-lay LVT (where the flooring manufacturer allows it) extends its usefulness beyond carpet tile alone into a genuinely broader commercial flooring specification.

- Carpet underlay
- Loose lay textile flooring and LVT (where allowed by the flooring manufacturer)
- Raised access floor panels, underfloor heating substrates
How to Apply
- Prepare the substrate — clean, dry, and not affected by rising damp.
- Apply the adhesive — by roller, trowel or brush, ensuring uniform coverage.
- Allow to dry — wait for the film to become transparent and tacky, approximately 10-20 minutes on absorbent substrates.
- Lay the flooring — position loose-lay tiles or panels onto the dried tacky film.
- Lift and replace as needed — individual tiles can be removed and replaced without disturbing the surrounding installation.
Important Notes
- Do not apply on damp substrates or substrates affected by rising damp.
- If underfloor heating is in use, switch it off at least 48 hours before and after installation.
- For interior use only; not flammable, solvent free.
