Turning a standard matt LOBA finish into a certified R10 slip-preventing surface is this additive’s entire job, achieved without altering the finish’s soiling behaviour, gloss level or resilience once mixed in at the correct 100g-per-5L ratio.

Description

Loba SlipResist is a water-based additive that lifts matt versions of LOBA’s water-based sealing products from R9 to a certified R10 slip-prevention rating, meeting the requirements for sanitary rooms, school and kindergarten kitchens, and barrier-free spaces under DIN EN 16165. What makes it genuinely useful is that it achieves that certified upgrade without changing any of the finish’s other properties — soiling behaviour, gloss level, resistance and resilience all stay the same as the unmodified finish.

The precision of dosing matters for the certification to hold: exactly one 100g container is added to 5 litres/kg of varnish, no more and no less, since the certified slip prevention depends on that ratio being accurately adhered to. It’s compatible with a specific range of LOBA finishes and oils — including EasyFinish, 2K Supra A.T., 2K Duo, 2K Fusion, and various oil products — giving real flexibility in which base finish to combine it with depending on the floor type and traffic level.

Certified slip prevention products like SlipResist are increasingly specified rather than optional in commercial and institutional projects — sanitary rooms, school kitchens and barrier-free spaces typically have a defined slip-rating requirement under building codes, and an R10 rating gives a genuine step up from the R9 baseline suited to lower-risk areas like entrances and break rooms. Because the additive is regularly tested by external institutes to confirm it continues to meet that rating, it offers a level of ongoing verification that a general-purpose additive wouldn’t provide.

Where to Use

  • Sanitary and break rooms, entrance areas, staircases
  • Service areas, kitchens and kindergartens
  • Barrier-free spaces requiring R10 rated slip resistance

How to Apply

  1. Shake well — shake the SlipResist and the varnish thoroughly before mixing.
  2. Add precisely — mix in exactly one 100g container per 5L/kg of varnish, only immediately before application.
  3. Mix thoroughly — shake or stir, using a LOBA varnish mixer mechanically if available.
  4. Apply the finish as normal — following the base finish product’s own application instructions.
  5. Do not repolish — the floor should not be polished again after application, as this can compromise the slip-preventing effect.

Important Notes

  • The amount of additive added must be precisely adhered to in order to guarantee the certified slip prevention.
  • Only suitable for matt versions of compatible LOBA sealing products.
  • The slip-preventing effect is regularly tested by external institutes.

Frequently asked questions

What does an R10 slip rating mean?

It meets the requirements for floors in sanitary rooms and kitchens in schools and kindergartens, and is also recommended for barrier-free spaces — a genuine step up from R9, which suits public entrance areas, work areas and break rooms.

How is SlipResist mixed into a finish?

Shake the SlipResist and varnish, then add exactly one 100g container to 5 litres/kg of varnish, added only immediately before application once any hardener has been worked into 2-component mixes.

Does adding SlipResist change how the finish looks or performs?

No — all the properties of the sealing products, such as soiling behaviour, degree of shine, resistance and resilience, are preserved even with the additive.
