Read the entire label before use.

  1. Prepare: pre-clean the item if dirty or oily, remove loose rust scale and mask the surrounding area to protect it from overspray.

  3. Apply: shake the can well, then apply a heavy coat of gel to the surface to be treated.
  4. Wait: allow 2 to 3 hours before gel removal; heavily rusted items and mixed materials need longer and repeat applications.

Frequently asked questions

How long should CRC Evapo-Rust Spray Gel be left on?

The directions say to allow 2 to 3 hours before removing the gel. Heavily rusted items and mixed materials will need a longer working time and repeat applications. To check progress, rinse the gel off with water and dry with a cloth, then repeat the application if more treatment is needed.

Can CRC Evapo-Rust Spray Gel be used on aluminium or anodised surfaces?

The data sheet says it is not suitable for anodised materials, may remove oxidation from aluminium and may cause staining on some materials when it contacts the surface. Test on a small, inconspicuous area first to check compatibility, including on decorative or polished surfaces.

What do I do about the white film or dried gel?

A white film may appear on the item during treatment, and the data sheet says it can be scrubbed off with a hard brush and water. Avoid letting the gel dry on the surface. If it does dry, a hard brush and water may be required to remove it.
