Description
Wrap a bar front or the wall behind a bathroom vanity in Dune Agadir Noche and the room gains deep black gloss with real movement in it. Noche means night in Spanish; the tile is a 9mm porcelain subway piece at 70x280mm (7x28cm) in the Agadir series by Dune, which takes its cue from the Moroccan city, zellige and Berber crafts.
Tested by Dune, Noche shows water absorption of 0.5% < E ≤ 3% under UNE EN ISO 10545-3, breaking strength greater than 30 N/mm² and stain resistance 5, and passes crazing, frost and thermal shock. Slip resistance is Class 0 under UNE-EN 16165 Annex C, so it is intended for walls and should not be laid on wet floors.

How to Apply
- Assess the surface: tile only a firm, level, dry, clean wall under 2% moisture; correct anything over 2mm out.
- Use the right adhesive: C2 cementitious adhesive for porcelain, tested on two pieces before the rest.
- Apply in phases: working upward, trowel on about 3mm, notch with a No. 3 trowel and press each tile into the soft bed.
- Keep edges flush: joints of 2mm or more (3mm over plasterboard), self-levelling spacers, and rows offset by no more than 25%.
- Grout carefully: black gloss shows haze, so clear surplus grout straight away with a wet sponge or neutral pH cleaner, never abrasives.
Colour and Finish
On a black tile the glaze does most of the talking: Noche’s irregular surface throws reflections that change as you walk past, and 21 faces add graphic variation. Shuffle tiles from several boxes as you go. For contrast, pair it with Niebla, Ivory, Arena or Piedra from the same gloss subway range, or with matt Cotto Oscuro.
