How to Apply
- Ready the backing: Dune wants a firm, dry, clean and level wall below 2% moisture; build up hollows deeper than 2mm and fix any cracks.
- Bond with C2: porcelain takes a C2 cementitious adhesive, and Dune suggests a two tile trial you inspect before carrying on.
- Spread and bed: rake a roughly 3mm coat with a No. 3 notched trowel and set each Lava tile before the adhesive skins over. Never dot or dab fix.
- Set the joints: at least 2mm, or 3mm on plasterboard or thermally unstable walls, with self-levelling spacers and no offset beyond 25%.
- Grout and clean: grout clean, dry joints 2mm deep or more, then wipe off excess at once with a wet sponge or neutral pH product, never abrasives.
Colour and Finish
Lava is the terracotta red of the Agadir palette. Across 21 faces, shade and graphic shift from tile to tile, and light breaks differently over each textured gloss surface, giving a splashback the handmade feel of zellige. Mix tiles from several boxes as you fix. Other colours in this subway size include Agua, Arena, Musgo, Noche and Selva in gloss, and Cotto Oscuro in matt.
