Description

CRC Red Zinc Coating combines the superior rust-inhibiting properties of zinc with a tough but flexible enamel coating, finished in a coloured satin red that conforms to recognised safety colour standards. High levels of anti-corrosive zinc complexes are embedded directly in the resin system, forming a quick-drying, highly protective enamel with excellent adhesion to bare metal rather than just a decorative topcoat.

Unlike standard paint systems, which can undercut and blister once corrosion takes hold beneath the surface, Red Zinc Coating resists that failure mode by forming a genuine corrosion barrier as part of the coating itself. For ultimate protection, priming the metal surface with CRC Zinc It before application is recommended, with CRC Prep It available as an intermediate coat to build a higher film thickness where needed.

It’s fast drying — touch dry in 20 minutes, recoatable within 30 minutes, and fully cured in 24 hours — and applied as a single coat with no over-coating required for standard protection. With a Corrosion Protection Factor of 36, it provides up to 3 years of protection before recoating is necessary under normal conditions, with more demanding or extreme environments needing more frequent reapplication. Ongoing maintenance is straightforward, since it can be re-applied directly over existing film or a clean surface.

How to Apply

  1. Prime if maximum protection is required — apply CRC Zinc It to the bare metal surface first.
  2. Shake the can — until the agitator ball moves freely, then for at least 1 further minute.
  3. Apply thin coats — with smooth, even strokes, holding the can approximately 25cm from the surface.
  4. Clean the valve — turn the can upside down and press the button until only pressure escapes.
  5. Allow to cure — touch dry in 20 minutes, full cure in 24 hours.
