Description
CRC Food Grade Silicone from CRC Industries (Aust) Pty Ltd is a multi-purpose silicone spray for food processing and handling equipment. The data sheets describe a colourless, odourless film that lubricates and protects in most metal and non-metal applications. The aerosol data sheet adds that it does so without damaging treated surfaces or leaving marks or stains.
Both data sheets say it eliminates binding and sticking. This page covers two packs, each with its own data sheet: a 283 g aerosol and a 443 ml non-aerosol trigger spray, so where their figures differ both are shown below.

How to Apply
- Check: do not apply while the equipment is energised, and not onto hot surfaces (trigger spray data sheet).
- Spray: apply in light, even coats to areas needing lubrication or moisture protection.
- Repeat: repeat until adequate lubrication or protection is achieved, using only the necessary amount.
- Re-apply: as needed to maintain performance.
Safety and handling
Both packs carry their own precautions on their data sheets, and each pack has its own flammability warning.
- Food contact: the aerosol data sheet states NSF H1 Registered for incidental food contact. The trigger data sheet describes the product as NSF rated H1.
- Do not apply while equipment is energised (both data sheets); the trigger data sheet adds not onto hot surfaces.
- Aerosol data sheet: extremely flammable aerosol. Keep away from naked flames, electrical appliances and lights, and lighted cigarettes. Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Use with adequate ventilation, store in a cool, well-ventilated area, and do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
- Aerosol data sheet: do not puncture, incinerate or store above 50 degrees C. Exposure to high temperatures may cause the can to burst. Do not place in direct sunlight or near any heat source. Aerosol cans will conduct electricity: keep away from all live electrical sources including battery terminals, solenoids, electrical panels and other electronic components, as failure to do so may result in serious injury from flash fire and/or electrical shock.
- Trigger data sheet: highly flammable liquid and vapour. Keep away from naked flames, electrical appliances and lights, and lighted cigarettes, etc. Do not spray on an open flame or other ignition source. Use only in a well ventilated area; ventilation may be improved by opening a window or door or providing mechanical assistance. Avoid continuous breathing of vapour and spray mist, and avoid contact with skin and eyes. If ventilation is not adequate, respiratory protection should be worn.
- Both data sheets: dispose of contents and container in accordance with relevant regulations, and do not contaminate the water supply. All products should be tested for suitability on a particular application before use. Refer to the safety data sheet for more details.
