Description
CRC 2-26 Electrical is described by the data sheet as a plastic-safe lubricant, penetrant and corrosion inhibitor in a paraffinic oil base, made by CRC Industries (Aust) Pty Ltd. It is intended to help prevent electrical malfunction caused by water penetration, humidity, condensation or corrosion, and to restore electrical properties after water damage.
A thin residual film with light lubricating properties seals out moisture and, according to the data sheet, gives long-lasting protection for electrical equipment even in difficult environmental conditions. It can be used as a degreaser and is described as ideal for removing fingerprint contamination. The product is listed here in 4 litre and 500 ml trigger packs, which the data sheets show with slightly different physical properties, so both are set out below. Features listed include preventative maintenance programs and freeing rusted or corroded parts.

How to Apply
These are the directions as the data sheet gives them.
- Submerged equipment: apply liberally on every surface and allow 2 to 24 hours for the water to be displaced.
- Protecting metals: apply a light, even film.
- Loosening frozen parts: apply liberally and allow to run off.
- Hard-to-reach areas: use an extension tube.
- Repeat: apply again if necessary.
Important Notes
- When cleaning surfaces, test a small area first for colour fastness.
- Precautions stated on the data sheet: keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources, and do not smoke. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection, face protection and hearing protection.
- The data sheet states that the product may be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. If swallowed, immediately call a poison centre or doctor and do not induce vomiting.
- The 4 L data sheet describes the contents as a combustible liquid. Store in a well-ventilated place, store locked up, and dispose of contents and container in accordance with relevant regulations.
