Description
CorrosionX HD Heavy Duty Anti Corrosion Penetrant is a high performance, thickened-film version of CorrosionX, developed specifically for marine environments to provide maximum protection against moisture intrusion and the resulting rust and corrosion. Beyond corrosion inhibition, it works as a genuine lubricant for heavy port and marine gear where grease isn’t the preferred option, and doubles as an assembly compound in the workshop or an anti-galling treatment when installing stainless steel components.
It forms a dripless, dynamic, non-hardening, self-healing film that stubbornly resists erosion by splash or spray, including complete submersion in saltwater — a genuine step up from standard corrosion inhibitors that can wash away under sustained exposure. It slowly penetrates existing rust and corrosion, removes moisture and stops electrolysis through polar bonding, and unlike wax coatings, it will not dry out, stiffen or crack under stress.
Independent testing by Veropes Germany found wires lubricated with CorrosionX HD lasted 59,000 bending cycles compared with 24,000 for an unlubricated wire — a 150% increase in lifespan, a genuinely strong result for wire rope and cable applications. Its lubrication factor of 0.4 is about 3 times better than engine oil, and with a tested dielectric strength of 25,000 volts, it’s safe to use on electrical connections, terminations, switches and lugs as well as mechanical components.
Because it doesn’t dry out or go sticky over time, treated components stay protected and functional for genuinely extended periods without needing the kind of monitoring a shorter-lived corrosion inhibitor would require.

Where to Use
- Drive chains, forklift chains, sprockets and steel cables
- Hinges, pins, bolts and brake lines
- Exposed electrical contacts and hydraulic hose connectors
- Marine gear, anchor winch motors and outdoor equipment storage
How to Apply
- Prepare the surface — can be applied over wet and rusty surfaces without prior drying.
- Spray, brush or roll — apply the product to the target surface.
- Apply a rich coat for exposed installations — such as bridges or anchor winches.
- Top up as needed — on chains and sprockets, simply top up with fresh product rather than cleaning off.
Important Notes
- Creates an extremely slippery coating — do not apply in areas where people step.
- Non-flammable and can be welded over without splattering.
- Clean up with Xtreme Clean, degreaser or a strong detergent.
