Description
Look closely at a Kit-Kat tile and the fingers are not separate pieces at all. Dune Kit Kat Mosaic Tile in Water Gloss Finish is one 115x231mm porcelain tile, 8mm thick, with a finger relief whose pre-cuts form the mosaic effect when filled with grout.
Water is a pale blue grey gloss with a faint aqua cast from Dune Ceramics. The datasheet for code 188859 confirms water absorption of E ≤ 0.5%, breaking strength of more than 35 N/mm², scratch hardness of 5, and passes for crazing and frost resistance.

Where to Use

- Pool walls, listed as a Dune use, with pool floors and steps excluded
How to Apply
- Ready the substrate: stable, level, dry and free of dust, with irregularities over 2mm corrected and a moisture content under 2%.
- Mix a C2 adhesive: Dune’s recommendation for porcelain is C2 cementitious adhesive; set a test area of at least two pieces first.
- Fix tile by tile: work up from the bottom course with a roughly 3mm bed notched by a no. 3 trowel, placing tiles while the adhesive is soft. Do not dab adhesive on in spots.
- Match joints to grooves: equal to the pre-cut spacing and at least 2mm, or 3mm on plasterboard; limit offsets to 25% and fit self levelling spacers.
- Grout and clean: fill all joints and grooves, use epoxy grout where water is present, and wipe haze away promptly with a neutral pH cleaner.
Colour and Finish
Water’s gloss glaze has 6 faces, graphic variation, a V3 shade grade and an irregular texture, so the tint moves subtly from one tile to the next; take pieces from a few boxes at once.
Also in Kit-Kat gloss are Snow, Ivory, Musgo, Ocean, Grass and Noche, with a matt range that includes White, Grey, Anise Green, Sky and Lilac.
