Description
Lago means lake, and this colour has the depth of one: an ink blue with teal glints that makes a room feel enclosed, calm and a little dramatic. The glaze settles darker in the hollows of the relief and lightens on the ridges, so a wall of Lago never flattens into a single blue.
It is a 9mm porcelain subway tile from Dune in the 70x280mm Agadir size. The sheet records water absorption between 0.5% and 3%, breaking strength greater than 30 N/mm² and Class 0 slip resistance, so Lago is for walls: showers, splashbacks, and outdoor walls, where it passes frost resistance.

How to Apply
- Ready the wall: start from a firm, clean, dry surface with less than 2% moisture, repairing cracks and levelling steps greater than 2mm.
- Adhesive: C2 cementitious adhesive is Dune’s choice for porcelain; lay a two tile trial and check it before continuing.
- Bed each tile: rib roughly 3mm of adhesive using a no. 3 notched trowel, set tiles into the wet ribs and press to fill any gaps, without spot bonding.
- Keep lines true: a 2mm joint at minimum (3mm on less stable backgrounds), self levelling spacers against lippage, and offsets no greater than 25%.
- Grout: work grout into joints at least 2mm deep with a flat rubber trowel and clean off immediately with a wet sponge or neutral pH cleaner; epoxy grout improves waterproofing in showers.
Colour and Finish
With 21 graphic faces, Lago shifts between navy, deep teal and lighter blue patches from tile to tile. A pale grout highlights the subway pattern while a dark one lets the colour run as one surface, so try both on a few tiles before deciding. Shuffle tiles from multiple boxes while fixing. Agua is a lighter, softer blue in the same size, and Ivory makes a pale contrast.
Important Notes
- Deep glazes show batch differences clearly: order the full area from a single batch.
- With Class 0 slip under UNE-EN 16165 Annex C, Lago should not be laid on wet floors, and Dune rules out shower floors and outdoor floors.
