Description
Agua is the colour of shallow water over pale stone: a soft sea green washed with blue grey that cools a room without making it feel cold. The glaze pools and thins across an irregular relief, so the tone shifts from one tile to the next.
This is a 9mm porcelain subway tile from Dune, Spain, in the 70x280mm Agadir format with a gloss finish. The datasheet puts water absorption above 0.5% and up to 3%, breaking strength above 30 N/mm² and slip at Class 0, which makes Agua a wall tile first. It passes frost resistance, so outdoor walls are an option too.

How to Apply
- Prepare the wall: it must be firm, level, dry and clean, with unevenness over 2mm levelled out and surface moisture under 2%.
- Choose a C2 adhesive: Dune specifies C2 cementitious adhesive for porcelain and suggests testing with at least two pieces first.
- Spread and notch: lay a thin bed of about 3mm, comb it with a no. 3 notched trowel and set each tile while the adhesive is soft, never by dot or dab fixing.
- Space and level: keep joints at 2mm minimum (3mm on plasterboard), use self levelling spacers and hold any offset to 25% or less.
- Grout and clean: fill clean, dry joints at least 2mm deep and wipe the excess off straight away with a damp sponge or neutral pH cleaner.
Colour and Finish
Dune prints Agadir with 21 different faces, and the gloss sits unevenly over the textured surface, so neighbouring tiles rarely read the same. Open several boxes and draw from each as you work so the variation spreads across the wall. In the same 70x280mm size, Lago is a deeper blue, while Arena and Ivory give warmer, paler options.
Important Notes
- Agadir is made with shade variation between batches: order the full quantity at once and keep it to one batch.
- Class 0 under UNE-EN 16165 Annex C means Agua is not slip rated for wet floors, and Dune’s use key marks shower floors and outdoor floors NO.
