Description

Ardex EG 15 is a high performance epoxy grout designed for situations demanding strict standards of hygiene alongside high chemical and physical resistance, and it’s exceptionally easy to clean up during application compared with a standard epoxy grout — a genuine practical difference on real job sites, where epoxy grout clean-up is usually the most labour-intensive part of the process. It can be used in joints up to 15mm wide on both walls and floors, across all ceramic tiles, porcelain and natural stone.

Mixed as a three-part system — compound, hardener and an Ardex Colour Pack filler — its viscosity can be adjusted by varying the amount of filler added, giving real control over coverage, slump resistance and workability to suit joint width and site conditions. Optimum results come at temperatures between 20-25°C, with a pot life of approximately 45 minutes at 23°C and 50% relative humidity once mixed.

Being solvent free and low VOC, it suits sensitive indoor environments, while its water wash-up and strong chemical resistance profile make it genuinely well suited to wet areas including swimming and hydrotherapy pools where hygiene and chemical exposure are ongoing concerns. Light foot traffic is possible after 24 hours, with full cure and chemical resistance reached after approximately 7 days.

Where to Use

  • Swimming and hydrotherapy pools
  • Commercial kitchens and areas with strict hygiene standards
  • Internal and external wall and floor grouting
  • Areas requiring high chemical and physical resistance

How to Apply

  1. Prepare joints — clean, dry and free of dust, excess adhesive and spacers.
  2. Mix Parts A and B — using a low-speed mechanical stirrer until uniform.
  3. Add the Colour Pack (Part C) — incrementally until the desired consistency and colour is reached.
  4. Apply and compact the grout — using a spatula, gauging trowel or caulking gun, filling joints fully.
  5. Clean within 15 minutes — remove excess grout from the tile surface using the four-step cleaning process.

Important Notes

  • Only mix enough material to be used within 30 minutes.
  • Do not apply below 10°C or above 30°C.
  • Not recommended for direct contact with commercial deep fryers — ARDEX offers other systems for that application.

Frequently asked questions

What makes EG 15 easier to clean than a standard epoxy grout?

It’s specifically engineered for exceptionally easy clean-up during application compared with standard epoxy grouts, which are typically far more labour-intensive to clean off the tile surface before curing.

How long before a floor grouted with EG 15 can take traffic?

Light foot traffic is permitted after 24 hours, with full stain and chemical resistance achieved after approximately 7 days, both at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.

What is the pot life once mixed?

Approximately 45 minutes at 23°C and 50% relative humidity for a standard 200mL mix — only mix enough material that can be used within 30 minutes.
