Description
Dy-Mark Spray and Mark is a premium marking-out paint built for construction, landscaping, civil works and surveying, where a fast-drying, highly visible line or spot mark needs to hold up on-site rather than smear or wash away before the job’s done. It’s designed to be sprayed in the inverted (upside-down) position, which is what lets it mark ground-level lines and X-spots without the applicator bending down to spray conventionally.
Coverage is rated at 200+ ‘X’ marks or up to 120 lineal metres per 300ml can, though the real figure on any given job depends on the surface texture and the colour used — darker or more absorbent surfaces will draw down coverage faster than a smooth concrete slab. It’s also compatible with Dy-Mark’s Long Arm Handle and 2-Wheel Spot Marking Handle accessories for marking without bending.

How to Apply
- Shake the can — shake for at least 45 seconds after the mixing ball begins to rattle, and shake occasionally during use.
- Invert the can — hold in the upside-down position, approximately 10-15cm from the surface.
- Spray — adjust spray width by moving closer to or further from the surface being marked.
- Clear the nozzle after use — hold the can upright and spray until only clear gas escapes, then wipe the nozzle clean.
- Clean up wet paint — use acetone or general-purpose thinner for any wet overspray.
Important Notes
- Avoid use in windy conditions, which affects mark accuracy and coverage.
- Painted surfaces may become slippery when wet.
- Do not pierce, burn or expose the aerosol to temperatures above 50°C, even after use.

Using an inverted-spray marking paint rather than a standard aerosol has a real practical reason behind it: most marking-out work happens at ground level, so a can that only sprays right-side-up forces the applicator to crouch or use it at an awkward angle, which slows down large-area set-out work. Being able to spray upside-down, combined with compatibility with a long-arm or wheeled marking handle, lets a single operator mark long survey or civil-works lines while walking upright. The range of 16 standard and fluoro colours also matters on multi-trade sites, where different colours are commonly used to distinguish services, boundaries or work zones from each other at a glance.
