Environex Anti-Eff Efflorescence Remover
– 1, 5 and 15 Litres
Environex Anti-Eff Efflorescence Remover is a heavy duty acidic cleaner specifically designed to remove efflorescence from pavers, terracotta, slate or sandstone.
Do not use on bluestone, limestone or limestone composite products.
As there are many issues surrounding efflorescence always consult your retailer or Environex International first.
Environex Anti-Eff Efflorescence Remover will react with and dissolve most surface salts that are the outcome of efflorescence.
Environex Anti-Eff Efflorescence Remover is based on phosphoric and nitric acids. It finds use in a number of cleaning applications where strong mineral acids are required to solubilize metal salts on concrete surfaces. It does not contain hydrochloric or sulfuric acids, which may contribute to discolouration and efflorescence.
APPLICATIONS
Anti-Eff is especially suited to the removal of efflorescence from concrete, clay and terracotta surfaces.
Anti-Eff will also remove dirt and attack vegetable oil and fat spots on these surfaces.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
General:
1. ALWAYS LIGHTLY WET THE SURFACE FIRST. Working in a small area (aprox 4-5 square metres).
2. Mix the Anti-Eff diluted at 1:25 (No stronger than 1:15) in a plastic watering can and evenly wet the area down, leave 2-3 minutes only and lightly scrub with an ENVIRONEX EAGER BEAVER. A fizzing reaction may occur. Repeat if necessary.
3. Rinse off immediately.
4. Neutralize with a mix of REFRESH and water sprinkled over the area.
5. Rinse with fresh water.
6. If sealing, allow at least 2 days for the area to dry and to be sure alltraces
of efflorescence have been removed.
Coverage: Aprox 1 litre may clean up to 10 square metres.
BUILDING INDUSTRY
Refer to above directions for use.
On concrete surfaces, Anti-Eff should be applied as a diluted solution (one part of Anti-Eff to 25 parts of water) and should never be any more concentrated than 1:15.
Concentrated Anti-Eff is corrosive and will cause pitting of concrete.
Contact time should be limited to no more than 2-3 minutes.
Clay and Terracotta surfaces are more resistant to the effects of acid and longer contact times and stronger solutions may be used. The surfaces should be rinsed and neutralized after application.
In all cases it is recommended that a small patch of surface be tested before full-scale treatment.
Always apply Anti-Eff to a dampened surface.
Always check in an inconspicuous area to ensure that no discolouration or patchiness occurs following application.
Uniform application of Anti-Eff is essential.
SAFETY NOTE
Anti-Eff is a highly corrosive liquid containing a blend of Nitric andPhosphoric acids.
Wear goggles and rubber gloves.
Operators should refer to the MSDS for safety precautions.
