Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer is a new generation super concentrated almost invisible penetrating sealer that will not change the surface texture but may slightly enhance the colour of the paver surface. Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer is designed for use on porous materials such as terracotta, travertine and sandstone as well as granite, marble, clay and concrete pavers. Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer is ideal where a long lasting, low maintenance finish is required. Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer will provide a barrier to staining from commonly encountered materials such as coffee, cooking oils, margarine, wine and general foot traffic. The durability of the product makes it suitable for use in interior and exterior environments and may be buffed if a higher gloss appearance is desired.

PRODUCT BASE

Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer is a complex based resin dispersed in an organic solvent. The resin is particularly hard wearing and will maintain its integrity over a period of years. It is nonflammable and low VOC.

APPLICATION

• Allow a minimum of 14 days from date of laying/grouting of newly laid pavers or stone surfaces before application of Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer to ensure all moisture has left grout and substrate.

• Ensure all efflorescence (whitish salts on surface) has ceased to appear (residual salts may be removed using an Anti Eff wash, follow instructions).

• The surface to be treated should be cleaned free from dust and thoroughly dry.

• Apply Environex Tuscan TSL Sealer using a heavy duty sprayer, lambswool applicator or paint brush taking particular care to avoid streaking. Each coat must be a “flow coat” to ensure full saturation of all pores in the tile surface. Generally a minimum of 2-3 even coats should be applied at a direction of 90º to each other working grout line to grout line, sealing grout lines as well. Broad application guidelines are as follows but our advice is to determine (on a sample) the number of coats required to provide complete protection against staining from vegetable & cooking oils, margarine, other stains etc. Stir before use.

COVERAGE

Ultimate coverage is entirely dependent on the quality and porosity of the substrate being sealed. Coverage will vary from 5 – 30 m2 per litre. Testing should be conducted to determine the correct quantity of sealer needed to meet expectations or stain resistance.

MAINTENANCE

Daily care and maintenance can be done in the following manner:

• Remove loose soiling by either sweeping or vacuuming area.

• Clean tiles by means of mop, sponge or automated scrubber, depending on
size of area to be cleaned with REFRESH. Agitation of the tile surface by brush or pad will aid soil removal without damaging the sealer. The resultant “dirty” slurry should be removed from the floor.

• It is recommended that general cleaning be done with a suitable neutral detergent such as REFRESH. In instances where difficult stains such as oils or grease are encountered, more aggressive cleaners such as S21 MULTI PURPOSE CLEANER or HD CLEANER may be used. Floor must be rinsed with clean water to remove any residual cleaning solution. If the sealed surface is compromised recoating may be necessary.

SPECIAL NOTE. This product CAN NOT delaminate as it is a penetrating product. Haziness or powdering on the surface after the use of this product will be the emergence of efflorescence which can be removed using ENVIRONEX ANTI-EFF.

ENVIRONMENTAL

VOC content. The Volatile Organic Content (VOC) is less than 5% as defined by the National Pollution Inventory.
TUSCAN TSL is readily biodegradable.
