Description
Mapei Kerapoxy Easy Design is a premium two-component epoxy resin grout engineered for demanding environments where hygiene, durability and aesthetics matter. Featuring Mapei’s BioBlock® antibacterial technology — certified to ISO 22196:2011 — it actively prevents the growth of bacteria and mould on grouted surfaces. This makes it the preferred choice for showers, swimming pools, commercial kitchens and food preparation areas that must comply with the HACCP system and EC Regulation No. 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs.
Unlike standard cementitious grouts, Kerapoxy Easy Design delivers exceptional acid and chemical resistance, zero shrinkage, and a smooth non-absorbent finish that resists staining. Its creamy consistency makes it significantly easier to apply and clean than traditional epoxy grouts, reducing waste and application time.

Also suitable as an acid-resistant adhesive for ceramic, porcelain, glass mosaic and natural stone on all standard building substrates. Can be used on fibreglass and PVC substrates.
How to Apply
- Prepare joints — Ensure joints are dry, clean and free from dust. Joints must be empty to at least two-thirds of tile thickness.
- Mix components — Pour component B into component A and blend with a low-speed mixer until a smooth, creamy paste forms. Do not add water or solvents.
- Apply grout — Spread over the tiled surface using a rubber grout float, working diagonally. Fill joints completely to the bottom.
- Clean immediately — While still fresh, wet the surface and emulsify residue with a saturated cellulose sponge. Rinse frequently with clean water.
- Allow to cure — Light foot traffic after 24 hours. Full chemical resistance after 4 days (10 days for pools).
Use the mixed product within 45 minutes. Packages are pre-dosed — do not estimate quantities, as incorrect ratios will compromise hardening.
Decorative Effects
Kerapoxy Easy Design can be combined with MapeGlitter (up to 6% by weight, available in silver and gold) or Mapecolor Metallic (up to 3% by weight, available in Moonlight, Sahara, Shining, Red Clay and Stardust) to create metallic and glitter finishes. For best results, mix with colour 700 (translucent). Note: products mixed with MapeGlitter or Mapecolor Metallic are not suitable for swimming pools or external use.

Important Notes
- Do not grout if tile edges are wet or contaminated with cement, dust, oil or grease
- Carry out preliminary tests when grouting porcelain with contrasting colours, or on porous or rough stone
- Use Mapei Kerapoxy IEG for environments exposed to oleic acids (food processing facilities)
- Use flexible Mapei sealants (Mapesil AC, Mapesil LM, Mapeflex PU 40) for expansion joints
- Store component A above +10°C to prevent crystallisation
- Remove hardened residue with Pulicol 2000 or UltraCare Epoxy Off Gel
