Description

Kempas Timber Veneer Flooring brings warm, rich natural tones to a floating floor via a genuine 3mm veneer bonded to a 14mm engineered board, in a narrower 120mm profile that reads as a more traditional strip-flooring proportion than some of the wider planks in the veneer range. Being a real veneer rather than a printed surface, the 3mm layer carries authentic Kempas grain and colour depth.

Nested board lengths within each pack take care of pattern randomisation automatically, staggering the joint pattern across a room as boards are laid, rather than requiring the installer to plan a manual stagger sequence. Combined with the 5G locking system, that gives a floating installation that goes down efficiently while still reading as intentionally varied rather than repetitive.

Kempas is prized for its warm, reddish-brown tone and genuine hardness, and this floating floor brings that character to a 3mm veneer over a stable 14mm engineered core rather than a solid board, giving real dimensional stability without sacrificing the natural grain and colour variation that make timber flooring desirable. The 5G locking system allows a secure, glue-free floating installation, which speeds up laying time and makes future board replacement more straightforward than a glued-down floor if a section is ever damaged.

Its low gloss finish keeps the natural timber character visible rather than looking artificially glossy, and the nested board lengths mean the laying pattern randomises automatically as installation proceeds, avoiding an obviously repetitive look across the floor.

Where to Use

  • Residential living areas, bedrooms and hallways as a floating floor
  • Renovation and new-build projects wanting a traditional strip-flooring proportion
  • Rooms suited to a floating installation over a compatible underlay

How to Apply

  1. Acclimatise the boards — allow the flooring to acclimatise to the room’s conditions before installation.
  2. Prepare the subfloor — ensure it is flat, clean and dry, and lay a compatible underlay.
  3. Lay the boards — install using the 5G locking system, taking advantage of the nested lengths for a naturally randomised pattern.
  4. Leave expansion gaps — allow for expansion at walls and fixed obstructions as required for a floating floor.

Important Notes

  • The 25-year warranty applies to residential use — confirm suitability before specifying for a commercial application.
  • As a genuine timber veneer product, expect natural variation in grain and colour between boards.

Frequently asked questions

What does the 120mm board width offer over wider options?

A narrower, more traditional strip-flooring proportion, which suits interiors wanting a classic timber floor look rather than the wider contemporary plank profiles used elsewhere in the range.

How does the 5G locking system work?

It’s a floating-floor locking profile that clicks boards together on both the long and short edges without glue, giving a secure joint while keeping the installation a fully floating floor.

What warranty does it carry?

A 25-year residential warranty, reflecting its intended use in domestic floating-floor installations.
