Eco Systems Eco Screed by Sika is a preblended cement based economical screed consisting of selected graded aggregates, portland cement and selected additives.
USES
▪ Can be used as a bonded screed in thicknesses from 15mm – 100mm in a single application.
▪ Can be used unbonded from 30mm – 100mm in a single application.
▪ Can be used internally and externally.

Application Information
Mixing Ratio
1.8 – 2.1 Litres of clean water per 20kg bag.
Consumption
1 Bag of product mixed with 2Litres of water with cover approximately 1m2 at 10mm thickness.
Layer Thickness
Bonded: Minimum 15mm – 100mm thickness
Unbonded: 40mm – 100mm thickness
Pot Life
Approximately 2 hours at 23°C & 50% RH
CHARACTERISTICS / ADVANTAGES

EQUIPMENT
Mixing can be undertaken with a slow-speed mixing drill & pail, cement mixer or forced drum mixer.
For best results use a forced drum mixer or cement mixer.
MIXING
Slowly add the powder to the clean cool water and mix to a semi-dry consistency for 2-3 minutes.
Once the Sika Eco Screed is mixed, the product should be used without waiting.
APPLICATION
Bonded Screed Application: 15mm – 100mm
Priming: Eco Prime WB
Prior to placement of the Eco Systems Eco Screed apply a bond coat.
Bond Coat: Promaxset Plus or Prohesive MegaLite Mixing ratio
Promaxset Plus: 6.5 -6.8 Litres water per bag
Mixing ratio MegaLite: 6.7 – 7 Litres or water per 13.5kg bag
Apply the mixed bond coat to the clean substrate with a trowel, or broom to a depth of 2mm – 2.5mm. While the bond coat is still wet and tacky apply the Eco Systems Eco Screed and compact, and screed to falls as required. Should the bond coat skin prior to placement of screed, remove and replace.
A bond coat shall be applied to the edges of screed that have dried from previous applications.
Unbonded Screed Application: 30mm – 100mm
Prior to placement of the Eco Systms Eco Screed install a double layer of polyethylene sheet, lapped and taped to the substrate. Place the Eco Systems Eco Screed onto the polyethylene sheet and install galvanised wire as per AS 3958.1 to approximately half the total depth of the screed and apply additional product to cover. Compact, and screed to falls as required.
CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT
Tools and equipment can be cleaned with water while the screed is still wet.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
▪ The performance of portland cement based materials is comprimised when used above 35°C and below 5°C.
▪ Do not apply over substrates that may be subject to shrinkage after application.
▪ Sika Eco Screed is designed to be covered by a tile, and not left exposed.
▪ Efflorescence is beyond the control of the manufacturer.
▪ Expansion joints must be installed as per AS ISO 3958.1-2007.
