SAS Tradies Choice WPM 2 Part Waterproofer is a fast-drying, two-component waterproof membrane that is suitable for a wide range of waterproofing applications.

Based on unique cross-linking polymer technology, SAS Tradies Choice WPM 2 Part Waterproofer displays outstanding adhesion properties over numerous building substrates including concrete, masonry, renders, cement sheeting, wet area timber surfaces, cement based compounds and plaster board surfaces. SAS Tradies Choice WPM 2 Part Waterproofer also offers excellent surface adhesion properties for typical overlaid finishes such as renders, screeds and tile adhesives.

AS/NZS 4858:2004 Wet Area Membranes as a Class II membrane
AS3740: 2004 Waterproofing of Wet Areas Within Residential Buildings
AS 4654.1 2012 – Waterproofing membranes for external above-ground use
AS4020:2005 Products for Use in Contact With Drinking Water

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be clean , dry and free of dust oil, grease, wax and curing compounds. The substrate must be installed according to the relevant standards and manufacturer recommendations. All porous surfaces must be primed with SAS Master primer. For non porous substrates such as external cement sheeting e.g. Scyon it must be primed with Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier. As a wet area membrane requires a suitable bond breaker at all substrate junctions please use Tradies Choice FC Polyurethane sausage.

MIXING

1kg of Part A liquid to 1.5kg of Part B dry. An electric stirrer and paddle is recommended to be used to ensure a homogenous state is formed. Starting with a slow mixing speed, the powder component should be slowly added to the liquid, increasing the mixing speed as the powder addition increases. Mixing should continue until product is consistent and lump free, then allow product to settle for a few minutes before re-stirring lightly. Product will then be ready to use.

MOVEMENT JOINTS

Movement joints must be in accordance with Australian Standards AS 3958.1-2007

DRYING TIME

Tradies Choice WPM is not designed for use as an exposed membrane.
Recoat 1-3 hours @ 23ºC
Dry Film 6-8 hours @ 23ºC
Immersion 21 days@ 23ºC

COVERAGE

A minimum of 2 coats is recommended to be applied for general wet areas at a total minimum coverage of 1.5 Litres /m2.
It is recommended that 3 coats be applied for immersed applications at a minimum coverage of 2 Litres /m2

APPLICATION

• Waterproofing should be applied in accordance with the Australian Standards AS 4858 : 2004
• All porous surfaces must be primed with SAS Master primer.
For non porous substrates such as external cement sheeting e.g. Scyon it must be primed with Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier.
As a wet area membrane requires a suitable bond breaker at all substrate junctions please use Tradies Choice FC Polyurethane sausage.

• Note: Protect waterproofing from other trades and weather until cured.
• A minimum of 2 coats is recommended to be applied at a total minimum coverage of 1.5 Litres /m2.

PRECAUTIONS

• Tradies Choice WPM 2 part cannot be applied in temperatures above 35°C or below 5 °C
• Tradies Choice WPM 2 part cannot be used for hydrostatic pressure e.g. rising damp contact the SAS Technical Team for further information.
