SAS Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier 2 Part is a two part water based epoxy compound which cab be used as a primer and moisture barrier. SAS Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier 2 Part Provides excellent adhesion to concrete, masonry, renders and internal cement sheeting. For external sheeting such as Scyon the substrate must be primed with SAS Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier.

SAS Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier 2 Part can be applied to damp surfaces and green concrete, screeds and renders. Once cured it provides excellent moisture resistance in positive and negative applications.
Can be used for internal and external applications.

SAS Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier 2 Part is a protective moisture barrier against rising damp of floors allowing direct adhesion of Tiles, Vinyl levelling compounds and screeds.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be clean , dry and free of dust oil, grease, wax and curing compounds.
The substrate must be installed according to the relevant standards and manufacturer recommendations.
For non-porous substrates such as external cement sheeting e.g. Scyon it must be primed with Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier.
Negative waterproofing or rising damp efflorescence must be removed from the surface to allow maximum adhesion to the substrate.
Voids, cracks pitted areas low points need to be filled with a cement repair mortar or epoxy mortar to ensure the surface is made good before applying the moisture barrier.

MIXING

Mix each part lightly before use to ensure a homogenous mixture is achieved before proper mixing commences.
Measuring by volume, add equal parts of part A and Part B into a clean pail. Thoroughly mix the two components for 3 mins until a homogenous mix is achieved.
Mix on load speed with a mechanical mixer.
Measure out only the minimum quantity of mixture that can be used within one hour of pot life (pot life 1-2 hours @ 23ºC).
Apply onto the floor with a medium to long nap roller

MOVEMENT JOINTS

Movement joints must be in accordance with Australian Standards AS 3958.1-2007

DRYING TIME

Recoat 4 hours @ 23ºC
Once applied, allow 24 hours curing before the application of membranes or tile adhesives.
Full cure 7 days @ 23ºC

COVERAGE

A minimum of 2 coats is recommended to be applied at a total minimum coverage of 3.0m2/Litres per coat.

APPLICATION

• Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier when used as a primer 1 coat is needed approx. 3.0m2 per litre.
• When used as a moisture barrier a minimum of 2 coats is required approx. 3.0m2 per litre.
• Once applied allow 24 hours curing before the application of membranes or tile adhesives.
• Tradies Choice moisture barrier can not be left for longer than 3 days before covering with tiles or levelling compounds.

PRECAUTIONS

• Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier cannot be applied in temperatures above 35°C or below 10 °C
• Tradies Choice Moisture Barrier is not classified as a trafficable membrane.
