SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip Lite – 15kg

SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip Lite is a polymer modified, cement-based tile adhesive designed for internal and external applications.
SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip Lite can be used for ceramic, porcelain and vitrified tiles.
SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip Lite Can be used for fixing tiles in concrete swimming pools.
It can also be used for tiling over existing tiles as long as the existing tiles have been primed with Master Primer.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be clean, dry, firm and free of dust, oil, grease, wax and curing compounds.
The substrate must be installed according to the relevant standards and manufacturer recommendations.
All porous surfaces must be primed with SAS Master Primer.
For non-porous surfaces such as existing, adhesives must be primed using SAS Master Primer neat.

MIXING

Mix 5.5 to 6 litres of water to 15kg of SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip Lite.
Mix with a mixing paddle until a creamy consistency is achieved, and the powder is free of lumps.
Allow the mixture to stand for 3 minutes, remix, then use the adhesive.

FIXING

Tiles should be fixed in accordance with Australian Standard AS 3958.
Apply the adhesive using a notched trowel.
For tiles up to 300mm x 300mm use a 10mm notch and for greater than 400 x 400mm use a 12mm notch and butter the back of each tile. Apply only up to 1m2 at a time. Press the tiles firmly into the adhesive before it skins.
Do not spot fix and remove all excess adhesive from the tile surface before it skins.

For use on Structural Particleboard used as a flooring material, the thickness must be 19mm or greater, and fixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
The surface needs to be sanded with 30 grit sand paper, before applying Master Primer neat, and allowing the Master Primer to cure for 2 to 3 hours before tiling.

MOVEMENT JOINTS

Movement Joints must be installed in accordance with Australian Standard AS 3958.

DRYING TIME

Allow the adhesive to dry for at least 24 hours at 20ºC.
Note:Do not tile at temperatures above 40ºC or below 5ºC.

GROUTING

Grouting can commence 24 hours after tiling is completed (refer Drying Time above) using SAS approved range of grouts.

COVERAGE

A 15kg bag of SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip LIte will cover approximately:
9 to 10m2 using a 10mm notched trowel (300x300mm tiles)
7.5 to 8.3m2 using a 12mm notched trowel (400 x 400mm tiles and over)

APPLICATION

Tiles should be fixed in accordance with the Australian Standards AS3958.1-2007.
• Ensure the back of each tile is clean free form dust and other contaminants.
• Apply the adhesive onto the substrate but do not exceed more than 1m2 at a time.
• When back buttering is required use the straight side of the trowel and apply a thin coating of adhesive onto the tile.
• When laying the tiles make sure you move the tile forward and back 90 degrees across the direction of the beads of adhesive
leaving no voids under the tile. It is important to lift a tile every now and then to check that sufficient coverage is achieved 90-100%.
• All adhesive residue must be removed from the tile and joint while the adhesive is still wet.
• After the tile adhesive is completely cured grouting can begin using Tradies choice range of grouts.

• Note: Protect tiling from other trades and weather. Do not allow traffic until all the tiling and grouting is completed.

PRECAUTIONS

• SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip Lite can be used for tiling over particle board flooring (see notes under fixing)
• SAS Tradies Choice Master Grip Lite cannot be used for tiling over solvent based waterproofing membranes.
• Do not use for tiling over existing tiles in immersed situations such as swimming pools spas etc.
• Tradies Choice Master Grip cannot be used when fixing moisture sensitive tiles or stone.
