Quick Smart Kool Kut 1 – Machine Cutting Oil is used where rapid heat removal is the major requirement. When diluted with water, it produces a stable emulsion which has excellent cooling ability and the necessary balance of lubricious and extreme pressure characteristics required for proper machine conditions.

Quick Smart Kool Kut 1 – Machine Cutting Oil is a general purpose E.P. Nitrate free emulsifiable cutting oil which forms a milky white emulsion when added to water.

Application

Basically, water soluble cutting oils are used in operations where the necessity of good cooling overweighs the need for lubrication. Other effects such as economy, corrosion protection, disposal of used coolant etc. must be considered and may have a decisive effect on the choice of cutting fluid.

An intrinsic characteristic of Quick Smart Kool Kut 1 – Machine Cutting Oil is its inbuilt protection against bacteria. This is as effective and much longer lasting than the proteos offered by added bactericides. To produce a homogeneous emulsion, Kool Kut 1 Machine Cutting Oil should always be added to water (with agitation) not vice versa.

For general machining requirements, a concentration of 1 part Quick Smart Kool Kut 1 – Machine Cutting Oil added to 20 parts of water (5%) will give good results on free machining requirements, a concentration, stronger than 1 part oil -10 parts water (10%) is seldom necessary as performance is not significantly improved beyond this level – while detrimental effects such as foaming can be created.

When using as a grinding fluid, Kool Kut 1 should not be used at a weaker concentration than 1 part oil to 50 parts water. Weaker concentrations will significantly reduce the protection against corrosion. Conversely, stronger concentrations may result in clogging of grinding wheels and glazing of the work piece.

Medium Steels – 15/1
