Description
Heritage Spotted Gum Timber Veneer Flooring pairs a genuine 3mm Spotted Gum veneer with a 14mm engineered board, giving a floating floor the warm, natural character of real Spotted Gum timber with the dimensional stability engineered boards are chosen for over solid timber. At 180mm wide, the boards read as a more substantial plank than narrower flooring options, suiting a contemporary interior look.
The nested length packaging — a mix of 1820mm, 1900mm and 2100mm boards within the same pack — takes care of pattern randomisation automatically, since laying boards of varied length side by side naturally staggers the joints across the floor without the installer having to plan it manually. Combined with the 5G locking system, that makes for a floating installation that goes down quickly while still looking intentionally varied rather than repetitive.

Where to Use
- Residential living areas, bedrooms and hallways as a floating floor
- Renovation and new-build projects wanting genuine timber character with engineered-board stability
- Rooms suited to a floating installation over a compatible underlay
How to Apply
- Acclimatise the boards — allow the flooring to acclimatise to the room’s conditions before installation, as with any timber-veneer floating floor.
- Prepare the subfloor — ensure it is flat, clean and dry, and lay a compatible underlay.
- Lay the boards — install using the 5G locking system, taking advantage of the nested lengths for a naturally randomised pattern.
- Leave expansion gaps — allow for expansion at walls and fixed obstructions as required for a floating floor.
Important Notes
- Board length mix (and therefore coverage per pack) can vary, since packs contain nested lengths subject to availability.
- The 25-year warranty applies to residential use — confirm suitability before specifying for a commercial application.
- As a genuine timber veneer product, expect natural variation in grain and colour between boards.
Spotted Gum’s distinctive grain — with its characteristic wavy figure and colour range from light brown through to deep chocolate — is one of the more recognisable Australian hardwood looks, and the 3mm veneer here carries that same real grain character rather than a printed reproduction. The 5G locking system’s main practical advantage over a simpler click profile is a tighter, more consistent joint on both the long and short edges of each board, which matters most in larger open-plan rooms where a less secure locking system can develop visible gapping at the short-edge joints over time as the floor settles in.
