Here is what we have

Choosing Between Butane and Propane Blow Torches.

For general DIY use, a propane or butane blow torch will usually get the job done. There are some differences in the way that these gases burn, so it’s important that you choose the right one for the job. Propane is more effective, but there are some advantages to butane as well. Here are the differences:

Butane Blow Torches are generally more compact and easier to handle. The flame is smaller and doesn’t burn as hot as a propane torch. However, it’s still hot enough to melt common metals like aluminium and copper. Butane is affordable and is a great choice if you’re a casual DIY user.

Propane Blow Torches are usually larger and often require two hands to hold. This should be the choice for more substantial DIY repairs, as the hotter and larger flame of propane works much faster. Propane gas gives off more carbon monoxide as it burns, so don’t use this inside without proper ventilation

Are you purchasing your blow torch for cooking? Cooking is a popular use for blowtorches, and the choice between propane and butane matters in the kitchen too. Use a butane torch for light tasks like charring, browning or caramelising. Go with propane if you’re looking for a tool for BBQing meat outdoors
